Description
Knitwit Scuba Crepe Knit fabric is a very popular fashion fabric being used extensively in sheath dresses, A-line dresses and pants, both slim and wide legged.
Polyester 95%/Elastane 5% 145cm wide Medium/Heavyweight – 280gsm Country of origin: China
Scuba crepe can be washed time and time again and still look brand new.
It has a crepe finish (high twisted fibre finish) on the right side of the fabric. This means a very good stretch recovery.
Knitwit Scuba Crepe Knit fabric is medium stretch, by which we mean 35% stretch. If your pattern is sized for a low stretch fabric (less than 35% stretch), you can still use it. You may need to take the garment in.
Knitwit Scuba Crepe Knit fabric is two way stretch, by which we mean the fabric stretches in one direction only, from selvedge to selvedge.

[Spandex is the preferred name of spandex fibre in the US. It is known in Europe as elastane, and in the UK and Australia as Lycra®. Spandex is actually an anagram of expands.]
