Knitwit Wool Jersey Knit Affinity is a beautiful fine pure Merino wool jersey – light weight, stain resistant, superfine fibre, durable and with a soft handle. Perfect for tops or soft skirts – it feels beautifully smooth against the skin.

Knitwit Wool Jersey Knit Affinity is medium stretch, by which we mean 25% stretch. If your pattern is sized for a low stretch (less then 25%) fabric, you can still use it, but you may need run the garment in. If your pattern is sized for a high stretch (50%) fabric, you can still use it, but you may need to cut out a size bigger.
It is two way stretch, by which we mean the fabric stretches in one direction only, from selvedge to selvedge. You can also use patterns that are sized for four way stretch fabric.
Washing instructions – pre-wash before cutting out unless you plan to dry clean only; warm gentle machine wash in wool detergent, no bleach, gentle tumble dry or line dry, warm steam iron, dry cleanable.

Sewing with Jersey Knit Fabrics
- For jersey knit fabrics, we use and recommend Gutermann Sew-All Thread, a top quality 100% polyester thread available in a huge range of colours to match your fabric.
- You will need stretch needles for sewing knit fabrics. Use Schmetz Stretch needles – 75/11 on fine knit fabrics, and 90/14 on other knit fabrics.
- Start each new project with a fresh needle, especially if the fabric contains cotton or wool. Blunt needles can leave holes on the stitching line.
- Vliesofix Bondaweb Tape is a must if you want to get more professional looking hems and neck edges.
