Moire—derived from the French verb moirer, meaning “to produce a watered textile by weaving or pressing”—refers to a fabric with an unpredictable rippling pattern.
Knitwit Moire Knit Odette is medium stretch, by which we mean 25% stretch. If your pattern is sized for a high stretch (50% stretch) fabric, you can still use it, but you may need to run the garment in.
Knitwit Moire Knit Odette is two way stretch, by which we mean the fabric stretches in one direction only, from selvedge to selvedge. If your pattern is sized for a four way stretch fabric, you can still use it.
If you need to, brush up on sewing with jersey knit fabrics.
[Spandex is the preferred name of spandex fibre in the US. In Europe it is known as elastane, and in the UK and Australia as Lycra®. Spandex is actually an anagram of expands.]
