Knitwit Double Knit Tuscany Red Reverse Ink Navy is an exclusive import from Italy. It is a versatile, thicker fabric suitable for jackets, cardigans, skirts and tops.
It is an easy fabric to handle and sew, and using the reverse of the fabric creates an interesting contrast in a garment.
The fabric is strong enough to make, for example, a straight skirt without lining.
Low stretch, by which we mean less than 25%.
If your pattern is sized for a medium stretch (25-35%) fabric, you can still use it, but you may need to cut out a size bigger.
Two way stretch, by which we mean the fabric stretches in 1 direction only, from selvedge to selvedge.
Again, if your pattern is sized for a four way stretch fabric, you can still use it, but you may again need to cut out a size bigger.
Pre-wash any fabric containing cotton, wool or viscose before cutting out.
Blunt needle warning – please remember to start every garment with a new stretch needle. Use 75/11 for fine fabrics, and 90/14 for heavier fabrics.
If you need to, brush up on sewing with jersey knit fabrics.
