Description
Virginia Stretch Woven Marl Burgundy is a stretch woven fabric that is great for skirts and pants. The stretch runs parallel to the selvedge, which means that the stretch runs “the other way”. You need about 1.50m for size 14 pants.
74% Viscose/12% Polyester/11% Nylon/3% Spandex 145cm wide Medium weight – 225gsm
Virginia Stretch Woven Marl Burgundy is a stretch woven fabric which means that the edges may fray, so they need to be sewn with a zigzag on your machine. Alternatively, use an overlocker to give a neater finish.
Medium stretch, by which we mean 25% stretch. If your pattern is sized for a low stretch (less then 25%) fabric, you can still use it. You may need to take the garment in on the side seams after you have tried it on.
Two way stretch, by which we mean the fabric stretches in one direction only, from selvedge to selvedge.
Blunt needle warning – please remember to start every garment with a new stretch needle. Use 75/11 for fine fabrics, and 90/14 for heavier fabrics.
